Product Overview | BIOMERIX 3D SCAFFOLD™

Biomerix 3D Scaffold™ for use in regenerative medicine research

The Biomerix 3D Scaffold™ is designed to mimic the nature and function of the extracellular matrix (ECM) for regenerative medicine research.

Composed of the Biomerix Biomaterial™, the Biomerix 3D Scaffold consists of an interconnected, three-dimensional, network of cells and pores. The three-dimensional macroporous structure of the biomaterial makes it highly conducive for regenerative medicine applications, by providing an in-vitro cell culture environment that promotes cellular organization, cell-matrix and cell-cell interactions, cellular proliferation and ECM synthesis.

Chemical formulation

  • Polycarbonate polyurethane-urea chemistry

Fully reticulated 3D morphology

  • Interconnected 3D network of cells and pores
  • Open-cell, macroporous structure with void content of >90%

Ideal platform for regenerative medicine and stem cell research

  • Potential applications in drug discovery, tissue engineering, and cell banking
  • Compatible with Hematopoetic (HSC), Mesenchymal (MSC), Human Embryonic (hESC), and Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPS)

The Company currently sells custom configurations of the Biomerix 3D Scaffold to both academic researchers and companies. Biomerix also works collaboratively with academic researchers in pursuing government funding from the National Institutes of Health and/or the National Science Foundation for promising clinical applications.
